Who Moved YOUR Cheese???

I believed many of us have read before this book called "WHO MOVED MY CHEESE".

In the story, 

CHEESE = is a metaphor for what we want to have in life, whether it's a job, a relationship, money, a big house, freedom, health, recognition or a spiritual change. 

There are four imaginary characters: Sniff, Scurry, Hem & Haw

• Sniff - who sniffs out change early;
• Scurry -  who scurries into action;
• Hem - who denies and resists change as he fears it will lead to something worse;
• Haw -  who learns to adapt in time when he sees changing can lead to something better

When the below situation happens to your CHEESE: 

When your EXISTING CHEESE is getting lesser, or older? 

Are you willing to let go your OLD CHEESE and look for NEW CHEESE?

Do you hold yourself back to embrace new changes?

Which character do you think you belong to ?

Sniff?

Which Employment Stage are you in now?

This article shared on the risks in the employment world at different stage.

Stage 1 - just graduated: 

Fresh grads usually were facing dilemma and loss of direction due to too many choices of jobs and positions. 

Failure of getting the desired job made them feel demoralized and blindly choose one that is easily available to them. 

Stage 2 - around 30 years old (after working for 5-10 years):

Many people started to feel dissatisfied with their job as didn't get the satisfied salary or increment with respect to their effort and hard work put into the job. 

They felt stagnant. 

They kept complaining about the unfair treatment from bosses, yet nothing can be done.  

They may resort to unhealthy way to release the frustration and anger.

Stage 3 - 40 years old:

At this stage, many have started holding high position in management and reached the peak in their career. 

However, they faced job crisis due to loss of direction, loss of passion, resulted in extreme drop in their performance!

US management expert, Richard Tanner Pascale mentioned before that, "the more you are familiar with your job scope, when reach peak in your career, the easier you may lose your direction."

Some started changing industry or nature of job without having clear direction. 

Some may even resort to affairs and other self detrimental ways to get the excitement in life.

Stage 4 - above 50 years old:

They fear of losing a job due to old age. 

There is not much privilege for senior citizen in career path to guarantee their job position.

One could be retrenched or asked to leave if making a mistake that causes company to lose money despite of years of contribution to the company.

What is Ultimate Freedom?

Since young, i saw my father working hard as a self-employed to take care of the whole family. 

Life was not easy. 

So I determined to study hard so to get a good job after graduation. 

I aim to change the destiny of myself and my family!

However, after graduation from National University of Singapore and working for MNC for a couple of years, I felt there was no job security.

Time kept ticking away! Day by day, month by month, year by year. 

I asked myself, am i going to continue working for people and spending my time here?

The answer is NO. 

I know deep inside that only through being an entrepreneur is the only way to gain back my ULTIMATE FREEDOM and become the MASTER OF MY OWN DESTINY.
